The University of Montevallo has waived the ACT/SAT test score requirement for admission and scholarships for students through fall 2024. Students who do not submit ACT/SAT scores will not be disadvantaged in the application or scholarship review process.

All entering freshmen and transfer students admitted to UM by the scholarship priority deadline will be included in the scholarship evaluation for merit-based scholarships. In addition to merit-based awards, scholarships are also available based on financial need, leadership, community service, choice of major and other miscellaneous criteria.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Scholarships based on financial need require a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be filed. In order to be considered for need-based scholarships, students should file the FAFSA before March 1st each year at http://studentaid.gov. The FAFSA school code for UM is 001004.
The University of Montevallo will not permit students to receive any institutional scholarship funds beyond the direct cost of attendance, which includes tuition, fees, room, board, and books, in a refund. This does not affect any outside sources of aid such as veteran benefits, PACT, external agency scholarships, federal grants and loans.

- Contact professional or government organizations that are affiliated with your major or desired career field to see if they offer scholarships.
- Check with local civic organizations or churches to see if they have scholarships for which you may apply.
